Privacy Policy

• Account details. When you sign in with email or Google, we store the email address and display name your provider shares, plus an avatar if you set one.
• Playlists. If you are signed in, your custom playlists and their track lists are saved to your account so they sync across devices.
• Suggestions. Track suggestions you submit are stored with your account so our curators can review them.
• Local data. If you listen without an account, your playlist is held only in your browser's local storage and never reaches our servers.

• To sign you in and keep your playlists and library in sync.
• To queue and review the tracks you suggest.
• To generate public share links for playlists you choose to publish.

We do not sell your data, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.

Humanwave streams and displays recordings from open music sources including Audius, the Internet Archive, ccMixter and Radio Browser. These sources are independent services — when you play or open a track, the provider's own terms and privacy practices apply to that interaction. We link to each source by name, not to outbound streaming storefronts inside the track.

Accounts are optional. You can browse and play music without one. Authentication is handled through our backend provider, which issues an encrypted session. We never see or store your password for email sign-in, and Google sign-in is handled entirely by Google.

A playlist you publish through a share link is visible to anyone who has the link. The link shows the playlist title and tracks, but not your email or any other account detail unless your display name is attached.

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Anonymous listeners rely on browser local storage for their playlist, which you can clear at any time from your browser settings.

Your account data, playlists and suggestions are kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual playlists at any time. To request full deletion of your account and its data, contact us at the address below.
